Kate Makepeace

Kate Makepeace - ty hafan board member

Kate, who lives near Crickhowell, joined the Tŷ Hafan Board in 2001. She originally trained as a nurse and midwife before moving on to gain an MSc in Educational Management. She is a former member of the senior management team of Coleg Gwent (Gwent Tertiary College) involved in strategic planning, policymaking and quality assurance. Kate spent a number of years with the Further Education Funding Council monitoring the performance of colleges and other further education institutions and is currently a consultant for the department of education and skills, working with senior managers across the ‘post sixteen sector'.

"I feel humbled to be part of an organisation actively working to ensure the lives of children with life limiting conditions are as full and meaningful as possible. Tŷ Hafan represents a joint partnership between dedicated professionals, the children and their families bringing life and laughter in the most challenging of times. I am privileged to play a small part."
