Celebrate 20 years of Tŷ Hafan by taking part in our 10k Birdsong Walk on Sunday 8 September 2019.
Get back in touch with nature and spend a morning with friends and family walking from the beautiful Tŷ Hafan grounds to Cosmeston Lakes Country Park. Your walk will take you back to Tŷ Hafan where you can enjoy a picnic and activities in the scenic grounds.
Help us celebrate 20 years of being there by enjoying the great outdoors and walking 10k for Tŷ Hafan. (5k route will also be available on the day).
What is the Birdsong Walk?
At Tŷ Hafan, one of the ways we remember the children who have been in our care is through our Birdsong project, which plays in our memorial garden. Each child's name is translated into birdsong through Morse code and plays throughout the garden as a unique and innovative way of remembering the children who have been a part of Tŷ Hafan over the last 20 years. The hope is that the local birds will start to mimic the song and begin to sing them to other birds, passing from bird to bird so the names will forever be in our skies.
The Birdsong Walk commemorates 20 years of Tŷ Hafan and an opportunity for celebration and remembrance. We'll be walking to celebrate our volunteers, our supporters, our partners, our ambassadors, our staff and, very importantly, our hospice families and the children who have been in our care.
There is a sponsorship target of £20 per person but no amount is too big or too small and you will receive a handy fundraising pack with lots of ideas and tips on how to reach your sponsorship target.
Your entry fee goes towards covering the event costs so by raising sponsorship or donating to Tŷ Hafan you will be helping to provide comfort, care and support to children with life-limited conditions, and their families.
Your entry fee includes an exclusive Birdsong Walk t-shirt. Under 5's are free (please note under 5’s will not receive a t-shirt).
To register an under 5 please email the child's name, name of parent/guardian and emergency contact number to firstname.lastname@example.org
