Crackerjackpot Summer Prize Draw

Elisabeth Wheeler of Heol y Cadno, Thornill, was simply amazed to receive a telephone call recently, just two days before her birthday, to say she was the lucky winner of the Ty Hafan's Crackerjackpot Summer Draw first prize of £6,000!



Having been a member of Ty Hafan's Crackerjackpot for 11 years she is very happy in the knowledge that her support has been helping generate funds to provide care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families from across Wales.

Elisabeth has spent a lifetime helping children with special needs. She is Head of Learning Support at Cardiff High School which ensures that children attending the school, who have special educational needs, are given every chance to achieve the same goals as more able pupils.

“I suppose I am more aware than most of the struggle that some of these children face, and even more so when they are profoundly disabled. I am proud to have supported such a worthwhile cause all these years. It's great to know my commitment to Crackerjackpot has provided comfort, care and support to 100s of life-limited children, young people and their families across Wales.

“Winning the first prize in their Summer Draw was completely unexpected! I still can't believe it's actually me! I'm in the process of buying a house so the windfall couldn't have come at a better time”.
