Blankets made of squares of exquisite textile craftsmanship have been put to practical use by Tŷ Hafan, the family hospice for young lives.

The first floor rooms at the hospice, based near Sully in the Vale of Glamorgan, offer accommodation to any member of the family who wishes to stay while their child receives the very best of specialist care in the Care wing on the ground floor.

Carole Jenkins has been housekeeper at Tŷ Hafan for over ten years and together with some dedicated volunteers, takes an enormous pride in making the hospice look as good as possible

“We want all members of the family to have a relaxing end enjoyable stay in a comfortable and bright environment” explained Carole “so we try and make the family rooms look extra special.

“The blankets we have used as decorative throws on the beds are absolutely unique and look fantastic.   You notice another lovely detail every time you look at them”

The works of art were made by ladies (and a few gentlemen) from all over Wales using the colours in the Welsh flag.

They have formed part of a recent refurbishment programme at the hospice which is now complete.
