Gourmet treat for Tŷ Hafan

Children and staff at Tŷ Hafan were treated to a wonderful gourmet lunch last week courtesy of two Michelin star Welsh chefs, Roger Jones and Richard Davies.

Roger who runs the The Harrow at Little Bedwyn in Wiltshire is no stranger to the hospice having visited earlier this year.  Richard is the Executive Chef at the Manor House in Cardiff.   Both have been involved in the popular “Chef’s Night Out” event for the last two years which has raised funds for Tŷ Hafan.

Of course families who stay at Tŷ Hafan have beautiful home-cooked food everyday provided by resident chef Jayne Jones and her team but it was just as exciting for them to share their kitchen with such highly regarded chefs;.

“It was such an honour to work alongside two Michelin star chefs” commented Jayne “and the food they produced was amazing.   It was really kind of them to spare their time to come along again.  On behalf of everyone at Tŷ Hafan I would like to thank Roger and his team  for their continued support.

On the menu was a choice of Fresh Shrimp and Avocado Roll or White Truffle and Pea Risotto with Wye Vally Asparagus for starters.   Main course was either Confit of Free Range Norfolk Chicken with Morels and Mash or Roast Cornish Monkfish with Chorizo and Vine Tomato Ragout.

Roger has also been at the Park House recently showcasing his eight course gourmet tasting menu with the option of matched wines with every course.  He will be ably assisted by the Park House team.
