Excited fundraisers have less than a week to wait until Tŷ Hafan’s colourful Rainbow Run in Porthcawl on Saturday 18 April.
Coney Beach will once again be filled with a sea of colour when 1,700 participants take on the 5K fun run in aid of Tŷ Hafan, the hospice for children in Wales.
Those taking part in the sold-out event can walk, run, skip, dance or even hop the route – and will be showered with coloured powder along the way.
Mair Kinsey, Marketing and Events Officer at Tŷ Hafan, said: “We aim to make the very most of the precious moments that life-limited children and their families have together – that’s why we think that the Rainbow Run is the perfect way to celebrate and support the work we do.”
“We are so pleased that so many people have signed up for the Rainbow Run and we’d like to thank Coney Beach Pleasure Park for hosting the event for the second year and providing the perfect beach location for our Porthcawl run.”
In 2014, the Rainbow Run raised almost £70,000 for Tŷ Hafan. This year the charity is holding its colourful Rainbow Run at Dare Valley Country Park, Aberdare, on 18 July and Pendine Sands on 26 September.
Julian Hodge is kindly supporting the event and Peter Lynn Solicitors, Coney Beach Pleasure Park, South Wales Wood Recycling and J&J Motors have kindly sponsored paint stations along the route.
The charity welcomes spectators to go along and watch this unique event, starting at 1.30am at the runners village next to the pleasure park.
It costs £3.7m a year to provide the Tŷ Hafan’s state-of-the-art facilities at Sully and deliver its support services to families out in the community.
Registration for the charity’s Aberdare Rainbow Run will open on Monday 20 April. Please visit www.rainbowrunwales.co.uk or call 029 2053 2282 for more information.
