A nurse from Tŷ Hafan has won a prestigious nursing award named after Suzanne Goodall, who founded the hospice in 1999 and sadly passed away earlier this year.
At the 2017 RCN Wales Nurse of the Year awards, Lead nurse Candice St John scooped the Suzanne Goodall Paediatric Nursing Award for her work in helping children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families to make precious memories in the time they have left together.
In a statement on their website, RCN Wales said: "Congratulations to all of our winners and runners up at the 2017 RCN Wales Nurse of the Year Awards.
"In our sixth year, we have once again seen the best and brightest talents in the Welsh nursing family!
"The Nurse of the Year Awards awards exist to ensure that individuals are both recognised and rewarded for their work, which raises the standard of nursing practice and health care in Wales, as well as the wider nursing community as a whole.
"Our finalists have demonstrated a passion for the nursing profession and exemplify distinction in care, leadership, service and innovation."
Congratulations Candice on your highly deserved award, from all your colleagues and the children and families at Tŷ Hafan!
