Quantum Advisory has been actively fundraising over the past few months as part of Tŷ Hafan’s “Pay for a Day” initiative – with the aim of raising £11,000 to pay for a whole day of care at Tŷ Hafan.
As part of our fundraising efforts, we have held a number of events in the office, including a Six Nations sweepstake, monthly dress down days and fun quizzes attended by both staff and external guests.
However, our biggest effort to date has certainly been the “Race to the Stones” challenge in July 2016, where a group of 20 Quantum Adventurers hiked 51km along the iconic Ridgeway described as Britain’s oldest road. Taking us across the Chilterns in Oxfordshire to the North Wessex Downs – all in one day!
The weather was thankfully on our side, with blue skies and not a drop of rain which really was a blessing when taking our short breaks at the four pit stops along the route. We hit our walls but pushed on, and through blisters, sweat and (almost!) tears, one by one we crossed the finish line tired and broken but all feeling accomplished. There were many sore legs and feet the following day! Here is a little clip of our journey along the 51km.
We are not far off our £11,000 target and are confident we can get there in no time. When we do reach it, we do not plan on stopping though! Over the next 12 months we are organising more fun events for our staff and clients, plus some of our colleagues will be taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon, which will be a great boost. We have already raised over £9,000 so far, which has far exceeded our expectations.
We could not have raised this amount without the support from our colleagues, clients, other professional firms, and friends and family. We’re extremely grateful for the generous donations made by all. It is all for a worthwhile cause and we are very proud to be able to support Tŷ Hafan and the wonderful and valuable work that they do.
