Hi, my name is Nige and I would like to share my story.
Whilst I have not had to use the fantastic services that Tŷ Hafan offer, my family have used other support groups as my wife has MS. The help that these support groups and charities offer is fantastic and my family have had fantastic help and support over the years.
I believe in returning favours and the way I can do this is fundraising. I have raised funds for three charities very close to my heart over the years and Tŷ Hafan is one of these. I visited Tŷ Hafan when Aberthaw Power Station put our leaf on the tree in reception. That day left me with not only with a smile on my face to see such a fantastic place and happy faces but with a drive to do more for Tŷ Hafan.
Every year I try to give myself a big physical challenge by running, mountain walking or riding my bike and raise funds for my chosen charities. To this end, I will be raising funds for my chosen and Aberthaw Station charity ‘Tŷ Hafan’.
I have signed up to cycle Wales in a day on 22nd July 2017. Starting at Caernarfon Castle and finishing in Chepstow some 190 miles and several big mountains later. This will be my longest ride and the most climbing I will have done on a bike ever, so a big challenge.
What will keep me going is the image of the smiles on the faces of all at Tŷ Hafan and knowing that every mile helps keep my sponsorship ticking along and I hope to reach my target of £500.
