#family friday

join the snowdog scamper for tŷ hafan

Woof! Happy #FamilyFriday dog-lovers across Wales – I hope you’ve all had a pawsome week.

Little Apple

If you’ve visited Tŷ Hafan recently, you might have spotted me guarding Reception. If not, please let me introduce myself. I’m Little Apple and next month I’ll be joining more than 100 other Snowdogs and Snowpups for a scamper across the city of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan to raise money for the amazing children’s hospice.

You can join us on our public art trail from 16 September – visiting your favourite streets, parks and iconic buildings and scooping some fantastic treats and rewards along the way.

It’s a great way to get out and about with your friends and loved ones and rediscover the region’s favourite hotspots while sup-paw-ting a fantastic charity, helping children with life-limiting conditions and their families across Wales.

The route, which you follow by downloading our App or using our map, is lined with Snowdogs and Snowpups, each one individually decorated by an artist – from amateur painters and schoolchildren to celebrities like Julian Macdonald – to give them their own unique style and personality.

Each has been sponsored by a local business or organisation in support of the charity, including Nathaniel Car Sales, Cardiff University, Cardiff BID, Cardiff Council and Harbour Authority and Cardiff Airport among many other major local brands.

With so many different designs on the trail, everyone is bound to find their favourite, which you can pose with for a #SnowdogSelfie. Although the trail is free to join and enjoy, there are plenty of opportunities to donate whatever you can to support Tŷ Hafan, whether it’s donating your loose change to our Puppy Bank or simply sending a text.

The trail will only be open for ten weeks, so make sure you put it in your diary now.

After the trail, there will be a special auction where you can bid to keep your favourite Snowdog forever.

Take the lead, put your best paw forward and help children with life-limiting conditions across Wales.

To find out more about the trail and to join in the action, please visit www.snowdogstailsin.wales and follow us on Twitter and Facebook @SnowdogsWales - there's a great photo album following my tour of the incredible facilities and meeting the wonderful staff and families at Tŷ Hafan.

See you on the trail - lots of licks!
