"yn brofiad â’m hysbrydolodd yn fawr iawn - an inspirational experience"

CymraegSian ydw i, ac rwy’n gweithio i Banel Cyfryngau Cymru. Ers sefydlu’r Panel ddwy flynedd yn ôl, rydym wedi cynnig cyfle i aelodau gyfrannu at Dŷ Hafan trwy lenwi’n holiaduron ac wedi codi dros £500 hyd yma,yn ddiweddar daeth gwahoddiad i ymweld â’r hosbis i weld pa wahaniaeth y mae’r arian sy’n cael ei godi yn ei wneud.

Byddaf yn cwrdd â Shelley, Cydgysylltydd yr elusen yn y Gorllewin, yn aml, ac mae ei brwdfrydedd a’i hanesion am y gofal a'r mwynhad y mae’r elusen yn eu cynnig i’r plant, a’u teuluoedd, wastad yn ysgogi balchder ein bod yn gallu cynnig cyfleoedd i gefnogi’r elusen hon.  Ond, roedd ymweld â’r hosbis a gweld, gyda’m llygaid fy hun, y cariad, y gofal a’r cyfleoedd anhygoel y mae Tŷ Hafan yn eu cynnig i’r plant ar bobl ifanc, o fewn yr hosbis ac yn eu cymunedau, yn brofiad â’m hysbrydolodd yn fawr iawn.

Roedd yr hosbis yn wahanol iawn i’r hyn yr oeddwn i wedi’i ddychmygu; mae’n lle lliwgar, croesawgar a phositif sy’n llawn o bopeth posib i wneud bywydau a phrofiadau'r plant a’u teuluoedd mor gysurus â phosib, gan gynnig cyfleoedd, gweithgareddau ac adnoddau na fyddai modd eu derbyn heblaw am fodolaeth Tŷ Hafan.

Mae pob ceiniog a gyfrannir ar ran ein haelodau, am lenwi’n holiaduron, yn mynd tuag at gynnig gofal a phrofiadau amhrisiadwy, a’u datblygu, nid yn unig ar gyfer y plant a’r bobl ifanc sy’n derbyn y gofal, ond ar gyfer eu brodyr, eu chwiorydd a’u rhieni hefyd.

Os hoffech chi lenwi’n holiaduron er bydd Tŷ Hafan, ymunwch yma.

I’m Sian, I work for Media Panel Wales.  I’ve worked with Tŷ Hafan for the last couple of years to set up a fundraising reward scheme. Media Panel Wales donates 50p to the charity for every survey completed by members of the scheme – over £500 so far.  I was recently invited to visit the hospice to see how the money raised by our members, has helped the charity.

I’ve met up with Shelley, the charity's regional fundraising manager for west Wales, several times to discuss the partnership, and her enthusiasm and anecdotes about the care and opportunities received by the children and their families at Tŷ Hafan, are always so moving.  Visiting the hospice, and seeing with my own eyes the love, care and amazing opportunities that Tŷ Hafan offers to the children and young people, in the hospice and in their communities, was an inspirational experience.

The hospice was far from the ‘hospital’ that I had imagined; it was a colourful, welcoming, calming place and they had everything imaginable to make the lives and experiences of the children, and their families, as cosy as possible.  They have also found ways of offering opportunities, activities and resources that would not be available or accessible to these families were it not for the existence of Tŷ Hafan.

The money raised by our members, who fill in simple weekly surveys about what they watch on TV, is spent on delivering and developing care and experiences, not only for the children and young people receiving the care, but for their brothers, sisters and parents too.
