Therapies
Tŷ Hafan can offer your whole family a tailored care package, which will meet all your needs. A number of these needs may be met through specific therapies and we specialise in music therapy, complementary therapy, physiotherapy and of course play! We deliver these therapies in your own home, at the hospice or where ever it suits you.
Through these therapies, we can perhaps help you communicate with your child in new ways and enjoy new experiences together.
Play
We believe that all children we help should have access to play that is therapeutic, stimulating and above all fun! This extends to the brothers and sisters and their parents and grandparents too.
All children play and we have a Toy Library with a range of toys and equipment that will suit everyone and make sure your child has the freedom to choose what they play with, how they play and when they want to play.
It is not about what a child cannot do, but what he or she can do that is important. We aim to use play and leisure activities to maximise the potential of children and young people.

Music
Music can encourage your child to explore, enjoy and participate in making music, encourage creativity and give them control of their surroundings. It may increase their confidence and expression, improve co-ordination and is an excellent way to relax.
All children can make music. We even have a piece of equipment that allows a child to make music by the faintest flutter of an eye lid.

Complementary
Complementary Therapy contributes to the care of your child by helping with physical symptoms such as constipation, muscle pain and infection. Of course, massage plays an important part and provides much welcomed relaxation for children and their families.
We also throw a few pampering parties for Tŷ Hafan mums, to provide some welcome indulgence and the chance to make new friends who are going through similar situations.
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy can help alleviate pain and improve flexibility making the child more comfortable on a daily basis. Physiotherapy is often undertaken through play or in water to help distract the children, so making it a fun and enjoyable experience.
