Do I need to be like the superhero Flash to do this?

Of course you don't have to be! This is not about speed and performance. We're all about having a magical and enchanting day with friends and family. You can run, walk, crawl or cartwheel it if you wish!

Event Disclaimer

We know you are going to wake up and be eager to come down and meet our characters however, please remember to bring your disclaimer with you on the day to create a more streamlined registration. You will receive this in your fundraising pack or can download this.  

Can children take part in the character chase?

Kids love characters that's why we have a 100m run for under 5's ( a responsible adult must run with them- no charge for adult). The 5k run is open to 5+ years of age but children younger than 16 must be accompanied around the course by a responsible adult (must pay registration fee and raise sponsorship). Our ratio is 1:2 adult. 

Can I run with my dog?

For the safety of all supporters we are unable to allow any animals at the event. 

Can I take photos with the characters on route?

As you run the 5k (2.5k x2 laps= 5k) you will see plenty of splendid characters around the route. Give them a high five, cuddle or wave but remember there will be plenty of opportunities to take photographs with them within the event village after the finish. 
If your child is taking part in the 100m run then their will be characters setting them off also, cheering them on and waiting at the finish line for a big high five. 

Is fancy dress compulsory?

We will have fancy dress police inspectors located throughout the event. You will be arrested and put in jail if you do not turn up with fancy dress, honest! 

Were you kidding about the question above?

Yes we were. You can wear whatever you like, but be aware that the weather can sometimes be unpredictable so don't come along in your best clothes and make sure you have appropriate footwear. 

Safety 

If you are running with small children, please watch and direct them through the event. Please follow the directions provided by event officials and volunteers. Please be courteous and respectful to everyone around you. 

Can I add people to my team?

All members must be registered together when creating a team; unfortunately we are unable to add additional members to your team afterwards. The additional member will need to register as an individual through the website, however you are still welcome to run together on the day and fundraise together as one team. 

Race Number

You will receive your actual race number to wear on the day in the post at least two weeks before the event date. If you have not received it by then please email events@tyhafan.org . Once again with all the excitement please make sure you remember your race number. 
If you have lost your race number then we will name and shame you and will make you run with a swim hat! Just joking - you will need to come to the information tent in the event village on the day of the event to collect a new race number. You will just need to give your details in order to collect this. 

Disabled Access

The route does have disabled access - there will be part of the route where will encourage participants to use the grass popular paths will be available at the event; however we ask that you contact us to let us know if you require disabled access, so that we can talk to you through any specific details and make any appropriate provision. When will I receive my briefing pack? 

Participants will receive a fundraising pack via email with their confirmation email - please check your junk inbox. You will then receive your sponsorship form, race number, disclaimer form and race pack in the post approximately 2 weeks after registration.

Will there be storage?

There will be no facilities of this nature at the event so please arrive with limited personal belongings or leave them with friends/family who are watching. We can not be responsible for any belongings left unattended. There will be toilets provided for this event.

You will automatically be sent a confirmation email upon registration, please ensure you check your junk folder in your email account. 

Can spectators come along to the character chase?

Absolutely! Spectators are very welcome. We encourage families and supporters to come along and watch the fun!

I can't take part now, can I give my place to a friend or get a refund?

Unfortunately, your place is non-transferable and non-refundable
