Tŷ Hafan is set to benefit from some of the funds raised through the appeal thanks to its partnership with Together for Short Lives, one of the six national Text Santa charities.

On 1 December from 11am onwards, Phillip will be on the nation’s screens live for a full 24 hours, starting with This Morning and finishing on This Morning on 2nd December at 11am!

Phillip said: “This is going to be exciting, the longest I have broadcast for is around eight hours for the Royal Wedding and again for the Diamond Jubilee. I am not sure what I have let myself in for but its live TV so there’s nowhere to hide. That's a bit scary but Text Santa is well worth the effort! Hopefully, if viewers are as excited as I am then some might be tempted to stick with me throughout the whole day.”

Lynne Carter, Fundraising General Manager, at Tŷ Hafan, said: “We’re thrilled to hear about Phillip’s TV marathon for Text Santa, it’s a great way to kick start this year’s appeal! Tŷ Hafan runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so our care staff know what it’s like to work all hours. We will be tuning in throughout the night to check that Phillip is still awake and hope people donate to this wonderful appeal.”

Audiences will get to see Phillip as they’ve never seen him before during the24 hour broadcast. He will be joining the Loose Women panel for the day and speaking with friends and celebrities including Ant & Dec all the way from the I’M A CELEBRITY...GET ME OUT OF HERE jungle. He will also be joined by chart topping music acts and there will be live stunts throughout the day to keep Phillip awake!

Phillip’s 24 Hour Live TV Marathon will be on ITV 3 for the full 24 hours and will also simulcast with ITV at various points in the day. Phillip will also appear on ITV 2.

This year’s beneficiary charities are Teenage Cancer Trust, Guide Dogs, WellChild, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Alzheimer’s Society and Together for Short Lives.

The Text Santa live appeal show will take place on Friday 19 December, presented by Phillip Schofield, Christine Bleakley, Alesha Dixon, Paddy McGuinness and Ant & Dec.
