Not many organisations can say that their supporters are willing to go to the other side of the world for them — but ours are pretty special!
In 2017, we took our supporters on a trek to the Great Wall of China which was a truly life-changing experience for everyone involved. And now, we’re offering challenge-seekers the chance to join us on another overseas trek… 6,000 miles away in Cambodia.
The nine-day trip (21st – 29th March 2020) will take trekkers 79km over five days on the most magical journey from Siem Reap to Angkor Wat — all to raise vital funds for the children and their families at Tŷ Hafan.
Our bespoke challenge starts in Siem Reap, the perfect base from which to explore the ancient capital of the mighty Khmer Empire. We’ll be spending a day here sightseeing and gearing up ready to begin the mighty trek the following day.
The five-day route will take you through hills, valleys, dense forests, dazzling green rice paddles and jungles dotted with temples ruins, villages of thatched stilted houses and small towns where Buddhist temples nestle amongst graceful French colonial buildings. On the final day our finish line will be Angkor Wat, one of the most renowned and impressive sights in South East Asia.
One thing that we can assure you is that you’re guaranteed to make life-long memories on this trip and life-long friends along the way. We’ll be holding lots of gatherings and group walks before March to make sure that everyone taking part gets to know one another. You’ll have the opportunity to share fundraising tips with one another, and you’ll be assigned direct fundraising support from the supporter care team at Tŷ Hafan to help you reach your target.
