Membership Officer 37.5 hours per week (5 days)
Salary basic £14,800 per annum OTE £26,000

We have a vacancy for a Membership Officer to canvass door to door in West Wales, and/or at specific sales locations, in West Wales recruiting new lottery members; also to sell single tickets wherever possible.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

To canvass daily during the hours 1300 to 2100.   During winter months these hours of work may change to accommodate the winter darkness conditions.
To call door to door at people’s homes and promote Tŷ Hafan, recruiting new members to take part in the Lottery through a plan agreed with the Lottery Manager.
To provide any and all information necessary to prospective members to enable them to make an informed decision on how to support Tŷ Hafan.
To achieve an average weekly target, agreed with the Lottery Manager from time to time.
To keep the Lottery Manager constantly updated on the progress of canvassing in defined areas.
To liaise with the Lottery Manager regarding areas in which canvassing should take place, which may include travelling to such areas as may be necessary and/or agreed.
To record accurately and clearly, all information relating to the progress of canvassing enabling a statistical record to be kept.
To provide authorised receipts for the receipt of new membership payments and/or donations received.
To return new membership information to the office, on a time scale to be agreed with the Lottery Manager, to allow adequate time for the processing of new memberships.  
To wear your identification badge at all times in an appropriate place on your clothing which can clearly be seen.   To carry your letter of authority at all times.
If required, to drive and also personally arrange the maintenance of a Tŷ Hafan vehicle. Ensure its cleanliness and roadworthiness at all times. Carry out all daily and weekly maintenance checks.
To complete the vehicle log book and daily mileage sheets accurately.
To perform any other duties as may be required within the context of the post.

Temporary Head of Events Fundraising

for up to a period of up to 12 months

37.5 hours per week

Salary up to £30,000 per annum

We have an opportunity for a period of up to 12 months for an experienced Head of Events Fundraising based at our offices at Culverhouse Cross, Cardiff.

The successful candidate will be looking after a small team that specialises in fundraising through event management.  You will have proven extensive experience of working in Events Fundraising, be a strategic thinker and practical implementer, with high level writing and presentation skills and demonstrable success in achieving budgets.

 Main Duties and Responsibilities

To be responsible for the preparation of Tŷ Hafan’s events strategy and agree budgets with the Director of Fundraising and Marketing.
  
To take responsibility for the revenue and expenditure of the events division to ensure an agreed contribution to Care Service.

To manage the events division to achieve the agreed objectives within budget and direct members of the Events Team to fulfil their roles in the events strategy.

To create a range of events with clearly defined objectives, fully costed marketing plans, time line and operational plans.  Work closely with  Marketing and Communications and implement when signed off by the
Director of Fundraising and Marketing.

To manage each event from creation through to post event assessment and project manage the implementation across multi-functional divisions
within Tŷ Hafan and with outside suppliers.

To ensure that all revenue and expenditure is monitored and every effort is made to maximise cash-flow through the efficient processes.

To create sponsorship packages for all events and working closely with Corporate ensure that revenue from sponsorship is maximised.  Manage the relationship with sponsors in conjunction with Corporate and ensure through Marketing and Communications that Tŷ Hafan’s obligations to the sponsors are fulfilled.

Create processes that maximise cash flow, nurture good supporter relations and that create a positive experience making use of all technological opportunities.

To have overall responsibility for health and safety of all events, prepare a documented risk assessment and make sure that adequate insurance cover is provided.
 
Encourage members of the public to volunteer to help the events division, accurately record their data and activities and manage a relationship with them.

To be responsible for ensuring that all promotional items and written materials are designed and created to the brand guidelines taking a lead from Marketing and Communications.

Ensure that all supporters (whether participants, sponsors or supporter providing gifts in kind) are thanked for their contribution and that processes are in place to nurture those relationships.

Ensure that all supporters of Tŷ Hafan, campaigns and communications connected to events are recorded on Donorflex and that from time to time the data is cleaned.

To create a forum for the discussion of new ideas.

To be responsible for ensuring that the website at all times reflects the events division offering to the public.

As a team leader, take an active part in the management of the fundraising Department and work with other team leaders to ensure a sustainable source  of income to support Care Services.

Ensure that Tŷ Hafan’s possessions are kept safe at all times.

Ensure that any untoward incidents of divergence from the agreed strategy or plans are reported promptly to the Director of Fundraising and Marketing.

Work closely with team leaders to provide support and nurture good
communications.

To monitor all aspects of divisional activity and at least monthly report to the  Director of Fundraising and Marketing.
