Our welcoming hospice

Our hospice is a happy and homely place that’s been carefully designed with babies, children and young people in mind.
As well as receiving first-class care at our hospice, children can get involved in a wide range of activities, meet new friends, or simply relax and enjoy some quiet time.
Facilities

Our hospice is equipped with everything needed to make a child’s stay super fun and safe. This includes colourful playrooms, music areas, sensory rooms and a large hydrotherapy pool.

Accommodation

We have up to ten private bedrooms for children, which offer lots of space for special items and equipment from home. We also have excellent family accommodation in a separate area which is close to our children’s bedrooms.

Young person zone

For young people who want more independence and a grown-up space, we have ‘The Den’. It features an accessible kitchen, gaming zone and cinema room.

Outdoor spaces

Our grounds offer lots of different spaces for children and families to enjoy, including specialised play areas, a sensory garden, walking paths and a dedicated wheelchair track.

Breaks from caring

Caring for a child with a life-shortening condition can often be incredibly demanding – physically and emotionally. By the provision of hospice and community based events for families which include opportunities to access a range of therapeutic and wellbeing support we provide parents and carers the opportunity to recharge. Sometimes we may be able to provide a short overnight respite stay to support parents and carers.

Symptom management

Our skilled clinical nurse specialists work with our medical teams and healthcare professionals in the community, to ensure symptoms are effectively managed in our hospice, at home and in a hospital.

Therapy and sensory play support

Using specialist techniques, multisensory facilities and technology, our therapy experts can help your child communicate, have fun and engage more with their surroundings. The impossible is possible.

End-of-life care

If your child is nearing the end-of-life, we can help make sure your whole family receives the expert care and support they need throughout this difficult time. This could be at our hospice or in a hospital. If your child is at home, we’ll work with your community team to ensure your family gets the right practical and emotional support.
