A partnership between the UK’s leading children’s palliative care charity Together for Short Lives and Morrisons has raised £10,722,514 in just two years and nine months.

Through the support of local Morrisons stores and sites, £10,722,514 has been raised for children’s hospices, including Tŷ Hafan, making a significant difference to the lives of the babies, children and young people and their families it supports.

Throughout the partnership, colleagues at Morrisons stores across the country have been raising vital funds for children’s hospices in many different ways, such as in-store fundraisers, marathons, treks, skydives and more.

Tŷ Hafan has also benefited from Morrisons’ in-store promotional event, Every Pack Gives Back, and a number of charity products such as a branded Together for Short Lives bear, a tote bag and pin badges.

Rachel Ritter, Head of Fundraising at Tŷ Hafan, said: “When a child’s life will be short, Tŷ Hafan will walk alongside their family every step of the way – through life, death and beyond. We have been delighted to see so many Morrisons colleagues throughout the country working so hard to help us to be able to do this.

“Morrison’s fantastic fundraising has raised more than £10m for children’s hospices across the UK, which is truly incredible, and we are extremely grateful to them for their support and enthusiasm.

“No parent ever imagines that their child’s life will be short. Sadly, this is the reality facing thousands of families in Wales. We can’t stop this happening, but together we can make sure that no one in Wales lives their child’s short life alone.”

Together for Short Lives CEO, Nick Carroll said: “The Morrisons partnership has allowed us to raise millions for children’s hospices across the UK, just like Tŷ Hafan, which are a lifeline to seriously ill children and their families. We have already witnessed the significant impact this has had on families in Wales and are extremely grateful for the support of Morrisons colleagues and customers.”
