We marked 30 amazing years since the shop first opened its doors on 14th July 1995, and what a celebration it was!
We were honoured to welcome Boxing World Champion Lauren Price MBE, who swapped gloves for Gift Aid and jumped on the till to serve some lucky customers. Lauren recently visited the hospice and shared, “It totally opened my eyes, how much of an amazing place it is, and the people that work there and what they do. I’m really proud to be a part of it and support Tŷ Hafan”.
We were also delighted to be joined by Cllr Dawn Ingram-Jones – Aberbargoed & Bargoed, Mayor of Caerphilly. She took the time to chat with our CEO, Irfon Rees, and other staff about the incredible impact our Caerphilly shop has had over the years in helping to support children and families.
The day was filled with laughter, memories, and even a live performance from shop regular Keith, serenading us with some Elvis classics, with a cheeky twist featuring Caerphilly Mountain.
Thank you to our amazing staff, volunteers and customers, past and present, for making the Caerphilly shop such a special part of the community for the past three decades.
