If you’ve been inspired by Jess, Rachel and Wales Women’s Football team – or any of the amazing footballers who’ve been playing in the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 – then you too can have your chance to shine on the ball!

Sponsored for the second year running by V12 Retail Finance, Tŷ Hafan Football Fives tournament takes place on 25 September and is open to women’s and mixed teams as well as men’s teams.

Roxy played for a V12 Retail Finance team last year. “Last year’s Football Fives was amazing,” she said.

“From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was electric, full of laughs, friendly competition, and a whole lot of team spirit. The organiser did an incredible job; everything ran smoothly and everyone felt included.”

“As a female player, I couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming environment. It’s not always easy walking onto the pitch, but the encouragement and positivity from everyone—even from the other team—made it such a fun and memorable experience. It wasn’t just about football. It was about coming together for a good cause, making new connections, and having a proper laugh along the way.”

With all the action at Cardiff’s Gol on Lawrenny Avenue, teams need to have eight players (one goalkeeper, four outfield players and three subs) and entry per team is £495.

It’s a round robin league where teams initially play for position in Champions League, Europa League and ECL stages. Then, the tournament moves on to knock-out phases, where the winners will go through to the semi final and then the final.

Each team needs eight players – one goal keeper, four outfield players and three subs. But don’t worry if you don’t have your team sorted just yet, we’ll collect all the players details closer to the time!

Registration is at 12 noon and the day will end around 5pm. Each team is guaranteed a minimum of five 10 minute games, pizza and a drink post-tournament, the chance to win player of the tournament, presentation of awards and a guest speaker.

Kelly Dibble, Corporate Fundraising Manager for Tŷ Hafan, said: “Too many families in Wales are struggling through the fear, exhaustion and uncertainty that comes with caring for a child whose life will be short.

“Right now, we are only supporting 1 in 10 families who have a child whose life will be short. Our ambition is that when a child’s life will be short, no family should have to live it on their own. With your help, we can walk alongside every family who needs us.”
