The Dark Run route starts by heading out towards Nells Point and looping back around to run under the Western and Eastern Shelters which will be lit up specially for this event, and then making your way back to the event village around Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf and through Promenade Gardens.

A little about the event
Run or walk, the choice is yours. Fancy dress is optional but strongly encouraged – think bright neon colours and Halloween dress up! – and we’ll be giving a prize for the best costume.
Registration opens at 17:45 and the event starts at 18:30. There isn’t a time limit for completing the route.

There is no minimum sponsorship and the Principality Building Society will match fund your fundraising up to a total of £12,500 for the Barry Dark Run.

What you need to know
Every child must be accompanied by a participating adult
Each adult can accompany a maximum of three children
Everyone must bring a headtorch (these will not be provided)
Pay and display parking for this event is at Nells Point, Barry Island
Pushchairs are allowed
This is a dog-friendly event, with one dog allowed per participant
Your dog must be kept at your side on a short, handheld, non-extendable lead
It is not permitted to participate with a pushchair and a dog at the same time
The event is 90% wheelchair accessible until you reach the clifftop where the route veers off the path onto the grass for 50 yards
Accessible toilets and baby changing facilities are available
