This epic 2.5k spooky fun run starts in the castle grounds, giving you gorgeous views of the lake. Then, you’ll go towards the gardens and wooded country park, where there will be spooky surprises waiting for you. But don’t fret – they won’t be too scary for the little ones!

We have lit up the castle and parts of the grounds for this event, and you can expect music and entertainment along the way.

Run, walk or jog, the choice is yours. Fancy dress is optional but strongly encouraged – think bright neon colours and Halloween dress up! – and we’ll be giving a prize for the best costume.

Registration opens at 17:45 and the event starts at 18:30. There isn’t a time limit for completing the route.

We ask that each family or group aims to raise a minimum of £50. Everything you raise helps Tŷ Hafan reach more children and families who need us.

What you need to know

Every child must be accompanied by a participating adult

Each adult can accompany a maximum of three children

Everyone must bring a headtorch (can be ordered when you sign up)

Event parking is at Cyfarthfa Castle

The castle cafe will be open to purchase hot food and drinks

This is a dog-friendly event, with one dog allowed per participant

Your dog must be kept at your side on a short, handheld, non-extendable lead

It is not permitted to participate with a pushchair and a dog at the same time

The event is partially wheelchair accessible (please contact events@tyhafan.org to find out more)

Accessible toilets and baby changing facilities are available

Pushchairs are allowed
