What is the firewalk?
This thrilling challenge involves walking bare foot across 5 metres of 800 degree burning wood embers. No special effects, just you and the fire!
You will be given a fundraising pack and the full support of the Tŷ Hafan team to help you successfully reach your fundraising target.
You don’t need any previous experience – all necessary training will be provided on the day.
This event is for people aged 18 or over.

Frequently asked questions
All you need to know about taking on the Firewalk
Who can firewalk?
Anyone age 18 years and above, and able to walk unaided across the length of the walk (approximately 10-15 feet) can take part. There are no ‘special abilities’ required and you will receive all the instruction you need on the day.
Do I need to train for a firewalk?
No, all training will be provided at the workshop on the day to help you prepare physically and mentally.
Is firewalking dangerous?
Fire does carry an element of risk – this is part of the unique appeal of this event! However on the night, firewalkers will be coached on the best way to approach the challenge with the intention of having the best possible experience!
What does firewalking feel like?
Many say it’s like walking on popcorn, or fresh, crunchy snow. Everyone has their own unique experience, and a memory that will last a lifetime.
Will the weather affect the event?
Firewalks have previously taken place in all sorts of weather without issues.
Can I bring friends and family to watch?
Yes, we would encourage you to bring supporters to see you achieve this amazing feat! Your family and friends will be able to join you in the stadium after the pre walk briefing to watch you take on the firewalk.
What should I wear to firewalk?
Please make sure you wear something comfortable that does not restrict your movement. Any trousers you wear should be able to be rolled up above your ankles.
