What is a Family Support Volunteer?

As a Family Support Volunteer, you will be working very closely with families who use TÅ· Hafan,
and giving them practical support in key areas of their lives.

You will be matched with a family based on your skills and experience and the support they need. All
volunteers receive training
about TÅ· Hafan and the support we provide families. You will also be encouraged
to bring your own unique skills and experience to the families you support.

Your role could include

Being a listening ear

We’ll give you the give you the training and guidance you need to be a listening ear.

Lending a hand

Being a helping hand in and out of the home with tasks like DIY, cleaning, driving and laundry.

Gardening

Helping with garden maintenance tasks like planting, painting and weeding.

Life admin

Taking on admin tasks like completing forms and running errands.

Volunteering with TÅ· Hafan

Simply put, we need you – and the families we support need you, too.

In 2023, our 500+ volunteers gave us essential support across all areas of Tŷ Hafan, including in the hospice, in the shops, in Head Office and in the community.

Those volunteers donated an incredible 47,337 hours of their time, saving us £331,027.

Achieving our ambition of making sure that no family in Wales has to face the death of their child alone wouldn’t be possible without your help.
