Cardiff City FC has supported us for a long time, so we were delighted when the 1st team dropped into the hospice to wish us a merry Christmas and have some fun with the children!

The Bluebirds spent time meeting families, playing with the children (including dodging the ‘snowballs’ being shot at them!) and giving out signed t-shirts.

“It was the first time we’ve been able to do it since COVID. It was really enjoyable. Hopefully we can do it every year,” explained Tom Sang, who plays for Cardiff City FC as a right back and midfielder. “A couple of the lads have just been pelting snowballs at us all day! And then we’ve just been playing bits of football and just having a chat really.”

“You can see the staff are all bouncing about really excited, as well. It’s just lovely, especially after COVID, we haven’t had this many people coming into the hospice for a good couple of years. So, it’s just nice to see the hospice coming alive with new players coming in. It’s just lovely for the families,” added Kelly-Jo, our Sibling Support Worker.

The whole day was full of smiles and excitement, so thank you for visiting us, Bluebirds! It was such a pleasure to welcome you to Hafan.

The Bluebirds weren’t our only special guests this Christmas. Did you know that Santa Claus himself came by helicopter to visit us on 23rd December?! You can read all about it here.
