At V12 Retail Finance, we believe in the power of collaboration, not just to drive business forward but to make a meaningful impact in our communities. Last year’s Football Fives event was a shining example of that spirit in action.
Hosted in support of Tŷ Hafan, the event brought colleagues from several local businesses, including ours, onto the pitch for a day of friendly competition, connection, and collective purpose. From the first kick-off to the final whistle, the energy was electric!
Teamwork, Inclusion, and Impact
The event wasn’t just about football; it was about creating a space where everyone felt welcome, regardless of experience or ability. As one of our players, Roxy, (pictured below middle) shared: “Last year’s Football Fives was amazing. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was electric, full of laughs, friendly competition, and a whole lot of team spirit. The organiser did an incredible job; everything ran smoothly and everyone felt included.”
“As a female player, I couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming environment. It’s not always easy walking onto the pitch, but the encouragement and positivity from everyone—even from the other team—made it such a fun and memorable experience.”
“It wasn’t just about football. It was about coming together for a good cause, making new connections, and having a proper laugh along the way.”
Roxy’s experience reflects the inclusive culture we strive for at V12, where everyone has a place and every contribution matters.
Leadership on and off the Pitch
Our V12 Retail Finance contribution to the day was proudly organised by Calum Ferrier, whose passion and commitment helped make the day a success: “Football Fives was a great event and one I was proud to organise for V12. It was great to see so many people come together and act as a team throughout. Regardless of ability, each player gave it their all, which was great to see,” he said.
“We managed to secure some trophies from the day and enjoyed the talk from Danny Gabbidon. It was the second-largest fundraiser for V12, which goes to show how hard the teams worked in supporting Tŷ Hafan. It’s great to see that we’ll be entering Football Fives again this year, and also that the company is supporting the practice sessions in the build-up.”
Calum helped turn a day of sport into a moment of real impact, raising vital funds and strengthening our internal culture.
Looking Ahead
With Football Fives returning this year, we’re excited to build on last year’s success to sponsor this event for the second year running. Practice sessions are already underway, and the enthusiasm across teams is palpable. It’s more than just a game; it’s a chance to live our values, support an exceptionally worthy cause and have a great time doing it.
