Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice has been shortlisted in the prestigious 2023 Cardiff Life Awards.
It is the third year running that Tŷ Hafan has been shortlisted for this award having won the category outright in 2021. The winners will be announced at a black-tie dinner in Cardiff City Hall on February 23.
Maria Timon Samra, Chief Executive of Tŷ Hafan, said: “I am delighted that Tŷ Hafan has been shortlisted in the charity category of the Cardiff Life Awards for the third year in a row.
“The aftershock of the pandemic, fast followed by the cost of living crisis, has intensified the pressures on everyone, especially those of us in the charity sector, many whom, like us, rely almost entirely on the generosity of the public to fund the free services we provide.
“To be shortlisted for one of these prestigious awards is a testament to the immense courage, hard work and resilience of the entire Tŷ Hafan community, including all of our dedicated staff, our fantastic volunteers, our generous funders and donors, our ambassadors, our trustees, and, of course, the incredible, inspiring children with life-shortening conditions, and their families, whom we are privileged to support.
“I am sure that I can speak for all when I extend a big ‘thank you’ to those who nominated us and the judges at the Cardiff Life Awards for affording us this much appreciated recognition. Congratulations also to our very deserving fellow finalists. We are very much looking forward to February 23 when the winners will be announced.”
