On Friday 26th May, we were delighted to welcome our constituency representatives Vaughan Gething MS, also Welsh Government Minister for the Economy, and Stephen Doughty MP, to our hospice in Sully.
This was an opportunity for us to renew relationships with both Vaughan and Stephen, who are long standing supporters of Tŷ Hafan, as well as to have constructive conversations about some of the current issues facing Tŷ Hafan and Tŷ Gobaith, the other children’s hospice in Wales.
Topics included cost of living and energy bills; the recruitment, retention and training of nurses and the upcoming report into the incidence and prevalence of life-shortening conditions in children in Wales.
Vaughan and Stephen also toured the hospice and its grounds led by Chief Executive Maria Timon Samra and Director of Family Wellbeing and Partnerships Tracy Jones.
Chief Executive Maria Timon Samra said: “We were delighted to welcome back both Vaughan Gething and Stephen Doughty to Tŷ Hafan, a visit that marked the continuation of the long-standing relationship with our elected members at both ends of the M4.”
