Children’s Hospice Week

Right now, Tŷ Hafan is only able to reach 1 in 10 families who could benefit from our care. That means there are 9 other families like Jackie’s, who currently aren’t getting the essential support that they need.

Children’s Hospice Week

What is Children’s Hospice Week?

Children’s Hospice Week, observed annually in June, highlights the work of the 53 children’s hospices throughout the UK, raising awareness and funds to support their vital work. This year Children’s Hospice Week is taking place from Monday the 16th of June until Sunday the 22nd of June.

At Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice, our Big Ambition is that when a child’s life will be short, no family should have to live it on their own.

Of the families in Wales who live with the unimaginable reality that their child’s life will be short, a shocking 90% currently do so without the support of a children’s hospice. This means that thousands of families are living their child’s short life alone and often without any support. You can change this. With your support, we can walk alongside every family that needs us.

Jackie’s story

This Children’s Hospice Week, Jackie Fears is bravely sharing the story of her son, Greg, and how Tŷ Hafan has, and continues to, support her and her family.

Jackie, from Church Village, Pontypridd, says: “I’m sharing my story because it actually breaks my heart to know that there are families like ours out there who don’t have the support that we have had or the experiences that we have had. I can’t even begin to comprehend what it would be like to go through this alone.”
